Full Wrecker Service

This is a picture of a full wrecker service.

Wreckers are just another name for tow trucks. They come in all shapes and sizes, and Franklin Towing Service only keeps the best in our fleet. We have light, medium and heavy duty wreckers, the main difference between them, the amount of weight that they can tow. Light duty wreckers can tow up to 5500 pounds, where heavy duty tow trucks can tow up to 10,000 pounds. You’ve probably already guess that medium duty wreckers can tow in between those ranges, up to 7500 pounds. With such a varied fleet of tow trucks, it’s no wonder that we’re so great at our job. Half of the job of being a tow truck operator is the equipment you use. The other half? Expertise and good old fashioned know-how.

Vehicle Weights

After reading about our tow trucks and wreckers above, you may be asking yourself, “How do I know how heavy my vehicle is?”. The simple answer is, you don’t need to know. Franklin Towing Service has you covered in that respect. We’ve been towing vehicles for years and we know just by looking at certain vehicles how much they’ll weigh and what truck we need to bring to the job. Having flexibility with our fleet just further improves our flexibility and our adaptive nature, the trait of our company that has helped us thrive over the years.

How To Tow A Car

Towing a car is relatively straight forward once you know what to look for, though some ways are easier than others. There are some amateur methods of towing that we won’t recommend, the most common of which, are tow straps. You may have also seen tow dollies in your travels, usually rented from a moving company. We don’t recommend these either. When it comes to towing, you want to leave it to a professional, or else you may end up doing more harm than good.

Questions

Franklin Towing Service is all about customer service, and you’ll see that theme represented throughout our website, conversations with our staff and the way we do business. Part of being a good customer service representative, or exuding good customer service skills, is answering questions in a knowledgeable and timely manner. If you were to ask a question of your mechanic, you’d want a timely and detailed reply, correct? You’d probably want to know how much the repair was going to cost, how the prevent the problem form happening again and how soon you’d be able to drive your car again. Those are all perfectly reasonable questions and if your mechanic didn’t want to answer those questions, you probably wouldn’t hire him or her to work on you car, would you? That is exactly our point.

How We Can Help You

The obvious thing we can do to help you is to move your car from an unsafe, public location to a safe, protected and helpful location. We can take your car back to your own garage for you to work on, we can take your car to your favorite mechanic or in the unfortunate event that your car is totaled, we can take it to the scrap yard.
